We skipped the light fandango
Turned cartwheels 'cross the floor
I was feeling kind of seasick
The crowd called out for more
And the room was hummin' harder
As the ceiling flew away
And when we called out for another drink
But the waiter brought a tray

And so it was later
As the miller told his tale
That her face at first just ghostly
Turned a whiter shade of pale.

and so it was that later
as a mirror told its tale
that her face at first just ghostly
turned a whiter shade of pale

She said: "There is no reason
and the truth is plain to see"
but I wandered through my playing cards
would not let her be
one of sixteen vestal virgins
who were leaving for the coast
and although my eyes were open
they might just as well 've been closed

and so it was that later
as the miller told his tale

And although my eyes were open wide
They might have just as well been closed

And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly,
Turned a whiter shade of pale

She said, "I'm here on a shore leave,"
Though we were miles at sea.
I pointed out this detail
And forced her to agree,
Saying, "You must be the mermaid
Who took King Neptune for a ride."
And she smiled at me so sweetly
That my anger straightway died.

And so it was that later

Turned a whiter shade of pale

If music be the food of love
Then laughter is it's queen
And likewise if behind is in front
Then dirt in truth is clean
My mouth by then like cardboard
Seemed to slip straight through my head
So we crash-dived straightway quickly
And attacked the ocean bed

And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale

Opuściliśmy wieczór tańca fandango
Robiliśmy gwiazdy na parkiecie
Czułam się jakbym miała chorobę morską
Tłum chciał więcej
Sala nuciła głośniej
Sufit zupełnie odfrunął
Kiedy poprosiliśmy o kolejnego drinka
A kelner podał całą tacę

A później
Kiedy młynarz opowiedział swą opowieść
Jej twarz na początku tylko upiorna
Przybrała bielszy odcień bieli

Powiedziałeś, że nie ma powodu
I że prawda była oczywista
Ale ja błądzę pomiędzy moimi kartami do gry
I nie pozwolę, by tak się działo
Jestem jedną z szesnastu dziewic
Które jadą na wybrzeże
I choć moje oczy są otwarte
Równie dobrze mogą być zamknięte

Bielszy odcień bieli
Przybrała bielszy odcień bieli

"Whiter Shade Of Pale" is a song by Procol Harum an English
rock band formed in 1967. They development progressive rock,
and symphonic rock. Procol Harum's music also embraces the
blues, R&B and soul.

"A Whiter Shade of Pale" is the alchemy of a song that remains
unchanged over time: the hermetic text and cryptic by Keith Reid
on which critics and fans continue to give interpretations and
origin from classical music makes her immortal, melody
poignant is inspired to Air on the G string from Suite No. 3 in G major by J. S. Bach.
In mashup I have chosen to highlight the evolution of the intro
chosen by composers / arrangers, its origin and inspiration tied
the arches with J. S. Bach (1717-1723) goes to the legendary
Hammond organ (1967 Procol Harum) arrives at the sweet
xylophone (1995 A. Lennox) to return again to the arches with
the latest cover of success sung by Sarah Brightman (2000)
affirming the excellent versatility and charm of the melody the
cover of the song seems to be a few hundred of the most famous
quote Bonnie Tyler, Michael Bolton, Richard Clayderman, Eric Clapton,
Joe Cocker....

e sebbene i miei occhi erano aperti
--------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------
Han spento già la luce
son rimasto solo io
e mi sento il mal di mare
il bicchiere però è mio
cameriere lascia stare
camminare io so
l'aria fredda sai mi sveglierà
oppure dormirò
Guardo lassù
la notte
quanto spazio intorno a me
sono solo nella strada
o no no qualcuno c'è (insieme a te)
Non dire una parola
ti darò quello che vuoi
tu non le somigli molto
non sei come lei
però prendi la mia mano
e cammina insieme a me il
tuo viso adesso è bello
tu sei bella come lei
Guardo lassù...

Ainda Mais Pálida

Dançamos o fandango suave
Girando pelo salão
Eu estava meio tonto
Mas a multidão queria mais
E o pessoal comentava cada vez mais
Enquanto o teto rodava
Quando pedimos outra bebida
O garçom trouxe uma bandeja

E foi mais tarde
Quando Miller contava sua história
Que seu rosto a princípio apenas fantasmagórico
Ficou ainda mais pálida

Ela disse que não há motivo
E a verdade é cristalina
Mas eu consultei as cartas do baralho
E não permitira que ela fosse
Uma das dezesseis virgens vestais
Que partiam para o litoral
E embora meus olhos estivessem abertos
Daria no mesmo se estivessem fechados

E foi mais tarde
Quando Miller contava sua história
Que seu rosto a princípio apenas fantasmagórico
Ficou ainda mais pálido, ficou ainda mais pálido
Ficou ainda mais pálido, ficou ainda mais pálido

E foi mais tarde ...

We skipped
The light fandango
Turned cartwheels
Cross the floor
I was feeling
Kind of seasick
The crowd
Called out
For more

The room
Was humming harder
As the ceiling
Flew away
When we
Called outfor
Another drink
But the waiter
Brought a tray

Chorus:
And so it
Was later
As the miller
Told his tale
That her face
At first
Just ghostly
Turned a whiter
Shade of pale

You said
There is no reason
And the truth
Is plain to see
But I wander
Through
My playing cards
And would not
Let it be
I'm one of the
Dixteen virgins
Who are leaving
For the coast
And although

(Chorus)

My eyes were open
They might just
As well been closed
A whiter
Shade of pale
Turned a whiter
Shade of pale
A whiter
Shade of pale

Album: "Medusa", (1995) by Annie Lennox.
Release: Date March 14, 1995.
Sound recording administered by SME.
Medusa is the second solo album by the Scottish singer Annie Lennox, released in March 1995. It consists entirely ofcover songs, all originally recorded by male artists.
"Whiter Shade of Pale" is the debut single by the English rock band Procol Harum, released 12 May 1967. Keith Reid is a songwriter who wrote the lyrics of every Procol Harum song , got the title and starting point for the song at a party. He overheard someone at the party saying to a woman, "You've turned a whiter shade of pale," and the phrase stuck in his mind. The song is based on J. S. Bach's Orchestral Suite N° 3 in D Major by Fisher's Hammond organ. Although he did not sing or play an instrument, lyricist Keith Reid was a pivotal element to the long-term success of art rock mainstays Procol Harum.

The unpublished second verse that Procol Harum included in concerts:

She said "I'm home on shore leave"
Though in truth we were at sea
So I took her by the looking glass
And forced her to agree
Saying, "You must be the mermaid
