The typical - "everything turns out right in the end" - Hollywood ending. The feud between Mrs Campbell and the Contessa is resolved. The 3 'fathers' make it all up with their wives, after trying to lie and deceive them throughout the movie, and Mrs Campbell's hired hand decides to stay with her, instead of leaving for Bordeaux. Everyone is happy and the theme song closes the scene! Mama Mia was exactly the same story, but this movie, which doesnt rely on Abba music, is just as 'feel good' as it's successor. Unfortunately, this one is a hard to find movie now.

Buona Sera Mrs. Campbell (1968) was directed by Melvin Frank and starred Gina Lollobrigida, Telly Savalas, Phil Silvers and Shelley Winters in this frothy little comedy. The plot was later used in Mamma Mia starring Meryl Streep, but I think this one is more fun. The beautiful score was provided by the renowned Riz Ortolani and features a memorable title song performed by Jimmy Roselli. The suite contains... Main Titles / A Blessed Event / The Contessa / Carla is in Love / Gia`s Theme / End Titles.

Hollywood Endings!
The typical - "everything turns out right in the end" - Hollywood ending. The feud between Mrs Campbell and the Contessa is resolved. The 3 'fathers' make it all up with their wives, after trying to lie and deceive them throughout the movie, and Mrs Campbell's hired hand decides to stay with her, instead of leaving for Bordeaux. Everyone is happy and the theme song closes the scene! Mama Mia was exactly the same story, but this movie, which doesnt rely on Abba music, is just as 'feel good' as it's successor. Unfortunately, this one is a hard to find movie now.

Buona Sera Mrs. Campbell (1968) was directed by Melvin Frank and starred Gina Lollobrigida, Telly Savalas, Phil Silvers and Shelley Winters in this frothy little comedy. The plot was later used in Mamma Mia starring Meryl Streep, but I think this one is more fun. The beautiful score was provided by the renowned Riz Ortolani and features a memorable title song performed by Jimmy Roselli. The suite contains... Main Titles / A Blessed Event / The Contessa / Carla is in Love / Gia`s Theme / End Titles.
